It tells the story of Widya Astuti Boerma, a woman of Indonesian descent who was adopted in 1979 by a Dutch couple, Jan and Edith Boerma. As she grew into adulthood, Widya began to reflect deeply on her roots, eventually seeking answers about the mother who brought her into the world.

When a woman emerged claiming to be her biological mother, Widya set off for Indonesia in 2021.

Yet, as her journey unfolded, she uncovered a web of troubling discrepancies. Meanwhile, another woman came forward, suspecting that Widya might be her long-lost daughter who was abducted by a caregiver decades ago.
